Flight Options sister operation Flexjet previously made the offer\u00a0as the two companies begin to reshape their operations, retiring some of the older modelaircraft\u00a0and moving others into\u00a0charter.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/flightlistpro.com\/private-jet-charter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/skyjet.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-722\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/flightlistpro.com\/private-jet-charter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/skyjet.png?resize=138%2C77\" alt=\"Skyjet\" width=\"138\" height=\"77\" \/><\/a>Flight Options will rebrand as Skyjet, a former Bombardier brand that parent company Directional Aviation recently revived to provide charter brokerage\u00a0services.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The moves are made as parent company Directional Aviation realigns its more recently acquired Flexjet and Flight Options into complementary services rather than competitors.\u00a0To help differentiate itself as a planned charter-only entity, Flight Options will rebrand as Skyjet, a former Bombardier brand that Directional initially revived in 2014 to provide charter brokerage\u00a0services.<\/p>\n<p>Voluntary separation packages are being offered to Flight Options pilots through April 30 as the companies seek to reduce the pilot workforce by 70 positions.\u00a0Directional principal and Flight Options chairman Kenn Ricci told <span class=\"\">Aviation International News<\/span>\u00a0that this comes as on-demand requires less staffing than fractional. The packages were initially offered to Flexjet pilots, who recently voted for representation by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (<span class=\"caps\">IBT<\/span>) but were not yet under a collective bargaining\u00a0agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Flight Options, which previously had been represented by the <span class=\"caps\">IBT<\/span>, sought union approval to make the offer to its pilots, but the union rejected the request. Flight Options moved forward regardless, and between Flexjet and Flight Options, had 80 pilots indicate plans to accept the agreements\u2014exceeding the company\u2019s\u00a0goal.<\/p>\n<p>The union has, instead, been pushing for a furlough protection plan that would give all furloughed pilots the equivalent of 12 months of compensation.
