About the Citation CJ2+, What Does The “+” mean?
The Citation CJ2+ is an upgraded and enhanced version of the popular CJ2, a favorite in the light jet category and in continuous production since 2000.
Lets break it down:
- Better engines — The CJ2+ is equipped with more powerful Williams FJ44-3A-24 engines, each producing 2,490 pounds of thrust, compared to the CJ2’s FJ44-2C engines at 2,400 lbs.
- FADEC — A significant advantage of the CJ2+ is its incorporation of FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control), which simplifies engine management and enhances efficiency and performance, particularly at higher altitudes.
- Improved range & climb — The CJ2+ offers better fuel efficiency, increased range, improved climb rate, better takeoff performance, and increased useful payload.
- Quieter cabin — It also features a redesigned cabin with extra soundproofing, making it a significantly more comfortable ride for passengers.
- More standard equipment — When introduced, the CJ2+ came with 17 of the CJ2’s most popular equipment options included as standard.
So in short, the “+” simply means improved/upgraded edition — the long term proven CJ2, but with meaningful performance and avionics enhancements.

Great for regional flying up to 3 hours, it is usually one of the top choices. We include it options for our charter clients to choose from whenever it makes sense.” New Flight Charters includes a jet charter operator directory with 3,569 charter operators worldwide.
